This CD begins with the rarely played Haydn sonata Hob. XVI It has an ethereal beauty and is delightfully played by V. Horowitz. The Chopin Etudes (op. 25/1, 5) and Nocturnes (op. 55/2 and op. 62/1) together with his Fantasie-Impromptu op. 66 are outstanding. It ends with two well-known, but rarely recorded, Liszt pieces/5(22).

The Nocturnes, Op. 9 are a set of three nocturnes written by Frederic Chopin between 18and dedicated to Madame Camille Pleyel. Despite being forever associated with the nocturne, (essentially a piece of particularly wistful, dreamy music, often intended to evoke images of the night) Chopin was not actually its inventor.

I'm currently working my way through Chopin's Op No I'm not a particularly good pianist but I love this piece, so I'm trying my best.:) I can do the first chords section pretty well now, but I'm struggling with the first trill using the B flat and C.. My first instinct was to play with first and third finger, but there's almost no space to move for me.
